some of you might know what was happening over at the US yesterday. 33 people were killed in Virginia Tech University. Apparently, the investigation showed that a Korean student who was the shooter and he killed himself after the incident ended.
The article that I read in http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/270916/1/.html said that the shooter was a lonely man. It made me think what his reason was in doing all this. Stress? Rejected or bullied by his peers? Call me a CSI fanatic, but i did learn things from the series. There was one episode about how a man was killed by five persons in the aeroplane (dont ask me which 1...i cant remember the episode's title now :P) it happened because the man was having headache as he was having allergy when he was at certain heights. when he couldnt handle his headache, he started to act wierdly and the people around him tried to stop him and accidentially killed him. at the end of the episode, the CSIs were discussing what they would be doing if they were in the passengers' shoes. and i loved what Grissom said...it took five persons to stop him, but it took only one person to care and ask him about his condition. which is true!! sometimes, we just dont care about the persons beside us. maybe something bad wont happen if we take one moment to just ask and care about these people.
There was one time when i took bus from orchard to home. When i passed Plaza Singapura, i saw a man was lying down on the pavement and he looked very bad. His girlfirend (i assumed she was his girlfriend...there were only 2 of them) was so confused and didnt know what to do. so she ran to the nearest 7-eleven at the dhoby ghaut mrt station. i could see from the bus that no one tried to stop from what they were doing and tried to help him. (on the rest of the journey, i was worried for him...how i wish i just alighted there and help them... i could see from their appearance that they were not local, my guess was that they came from china) i couldnt blame those people who didnt stop...anyway, it was their choice. but if something bad happened to him, wouldnt we regret for not helping him? foreigners in a foreign country who did not know anyone... i could understand that feeling.. after all, i am still called a foreigner in Singapore :P
anyway, how i wished that the shooting massacre didnt happen. 33 people just gone like that... maybe we should start to make a difference once again in other people??
