Women & Sizes of Body

I was watching Tyra Show yesterday and the day before. I didnt really watch the whole episode, but I managed to catch at least 1/2 hour of the show. The topic for both episode was about women and sizes of their body. Basically Tyra made an experiment of 10 women on how they would label each other based on their bodies size and also what occupation that would be related to their bodies size. Before they started to label each other, they needed to look at the mirror and said out their thoughts when they were looking at themselves in the mirror.

Anyway, the 2 episodes really made me thinking on how we would label each other based on our body size. Have you ever thought that a skinny person might not want to be skinny at all? Maybe that person had tried everything to gain weight, but he/she was born that way. Or maybe that an obese person didnt want to be the size of him/her now. He/she had tried everything, from exercise and diet, but there was nothing in the result.

How we labeled another persons might leave a very big impact on them. We might not know them.. or they might not know us.. but even as strangers called names on others, the impact will still be big on the psychology side.

There was a news in TODAY today about a French lady minister who were trying to get bill on punishing anyone who tried to get women to lose weight. That was interesting. I am sure that many of us would think that a good looking lady would be the one with a slim body. And I believed that many of us had tried diet (including me!!)

I believed that losing weight is not wrong. We should really know our own body. If we were obese and were not able to do anything because of our body, then we should really think to exercise to lose some weight.. If we knew that our body was unhealthy because of all the fat at the wrong place, we should really start exercising.

What do you think?
